Hunting in Florida means heat, palmettos and thick hammocks, where a heavy rifle wears you out before noon. The Fierce Mini Rogue family keeps weight down with carbon, and it is made for youth, women and smaller-framed hunters. It is a good fit for whitetail on pine flatwoods, hogs along creek bottoms and a young hunter's first season anywhere from the Panhandle to the Glades.

Mini Rogue rifles use carbon fiber stocks, a shorter length of pull and an adjustable comb or push-button cheek piece. The stainless dual-lug action stands up to Florida humidity, and the CT Mini Rogue XP comes in close to 6 lb. A 6.5 Creedmoor or 7mm-08 Remington covers deer and hogs, while the 22 and 25 Creedmoor offer even softer recoil.

In XP form the Mini Rogue gets a carbon fiber match-grade barrel and a TriggerTech Primary ProCurve trigger; QD flush cups and two 1/4-inch stock spacers come with it.

22 Creedmoor is a fast, flat-shooting varmint and predator round with very little recoil, which makes it a favorite for new and young owners who want to stretch their range.

This rifle has a 20 in barrel, 3+1 capacity, and weighs about 6.2 lb. Finish: Black DLC / Forest Camo.

A rifle that fits lets a shooter stay calm and steady when a hog steps out. Too much length of pull pushes the head away from the scope and makes for a bad sight picture. Choose the shorter stock, then set the comb so the cheek and eye land in the same spot every time. Start a youth hunter on a 22 or 6mm Creedmoor before a 308.
